The vision for our church is to be:

  • A grounded community: being actively engaged in making an exceptional commitment to the Bible, prayer and personal spiritual development.
  • A gracious community: attracting and embracing people of every culture, every generation and every economic stratum.
  • A generous community: unleashing unprecedented levels of compassion, resources and people into our world.
One of the strategies toward achieving this vision is the launch of a stewardship challenge on February 1 called, Beyond. Unlike past stewardship challenges, we are not asking for cards to be signed or pledges made. We are asking, however, for hundreds of people to pray, sacrifice and engage an element of faith to give for the purpose of taking our church...

Beyond ourselves and into our community and region

From February through December we will give 50% of everything collected to community organizations and area churches. Our heart is focused on unleashing unprecedented levels of compassion and resources on our local community beyond all of our normal ministries. We want to channel these resources to community organizations to assist with the physical needs of our local community.

Beyond our current ministry boundaries

We've celebrated becoming totally debt-free as a church, but we understand that is not the end of our mission. We have not arrived at our destination. For the next 17 months, sacrificial giving to Beyond will assist us as we save and prepare for how God will direct us in the future.

How should we give?

Giving to Beyond represents a sacrificial gift to the Lord. God is honored as we seek Him for guidance in our giving, and God is blessed when we exercise faith in stretching beyond what is easy. You may give through any of the following channels:

Sunday Offerings
The most common way you can give is by designating your giving to Beyond on your offering envelope and placing it in the offering plate on Sundays. If you do not have personal offering envelopes, the Business Office will gladly send them to you upon request. Contact us at bo@centralwesleyan.org.

Online giving
Online giving is a fast and secure way to designate gifts to the church, and nearly 20% of weekly giving is now done online. To do so, click here. The first time, you need to set up a profile, but after than it is easy to schedule and designate future giving.

Retirement Account Distributions
In 2011, those who are 70 1/2 years old or older can make distributions directly from retirement accounts to the church and thus avoid income tax on the distribution. These direct gifts also count toward required distribution totals.

Stocks & Bonds
Anyone may donate non-government bonds and appreciated stock. The donor will receive giving credit for the market value of the gift and will avoid capital gains tax on the appreciated value (if they have been held for at least one year).
