Monday May 19 // Romans 4:7-10
Verse 7 talks about putting God FIRST and following His rules. What is the reward of doing this at the end of verse 7? Who will LIFT us up when we show respect (verse 10)?
Tuesday May 20 // Romans 3:13-16
Is ANYONE always wise except Jesus? NO!! Are we supposed to be jealous of each other (look in verse 16)? The more we are jealous of each other the more our lives will get messy because we are not seeking Jesus.
Wednesday May 21 // Romans 4:13-17
Do you know exactly what will happen tomorrow? Good, I don’t either! Our whole life is in God’s hands, which is a great thing. Is bragging a good thing (verse 16)? The awesome thing is that IF we TRY to follow God, we can stand STRONG against a lot of sin.
Thursday May 22 // Matthew 4:1-7
Have you ever gone without food for a day or two? You would be pretty hungry! Jesus goes without for 40 days THEN gets tempted by the devil. Does the Devil quote scripture from the Bible (verse 5-6)? To me that means that you and I better practice our Bible reading so we can stand against YUCKY thoughts that the devil might put in our hearts- do not worry JESUS will help us!
Friday May 23 // Matthew 4:8-11
If Jesus stood tall against the devil, we can stand strong against SIN. I like the words Jesus uses in verse 10- GET AWAY FROM ME SATAN. Use those same words when you are tempted to do something wrong.
Saturday May 24 // Ecclesiastes 12:13-14
After being told by God to write this book in the Bible, King Solomon ends with these two verses. They say to keep God’s commandments and do good stuff for others instead of bad stuff. Can you memorize these two verses??
Sunday May 25 // Philippians 2:1-5
Basically, IF you find JOY in loving Jesus and following Him- then we should find JOY in helping others- NOT because we have to like a job or chore at home but because Jesus is shining in our hearts! SIN has a tough time happening WHEN we are busy shining for Jesus.
