Requests and praises are sent over email from the congregational care department.Meal Ministry: Prepare a meal occasionally on an on-call basis for a family of CWC who may be going through a difficult time. If you are willing to bless a family with a meal, you can help out by being a part of this great ministry. Meals for Moms: This ministry is provided to families with a newborn. It is a great way to welcome God’s miracle into this world by giving mom a break! You could be called occasionally to prepare a meal for a family with a new addition. Windows (Shut-Ins): Many people are unable to attend CWC as a result of various limitations. This ministry is seeking to reach out to lonely individuals who desire companionship but are unable to leave their home or room. You could be part of this team by visiting the shut-ins. CARE Team: Caring About Real Experiences–A ministry that seeks to extend the love, comfort and compassion of Jesus Christ to those who are admitted to the hospital in Holland, Zeeland, Muskegon or Grand Rapids. You could be a part of the visitation team on an on-call basis. Teams needed for registration, to guide people to rooms, to help them safely in and out of the water, to hand out the gifts, to hold towels and to encourage people all along the way.Church Picnic: In the summer we gather together as family to share in a tasty picnic on the church grounds. Food servers, runners, cooks and cleaner-uppers are always needed. SHAPE Facilitators/Hosts: Shape class 301 meets quarterly. Set up and host these classes or teach the shape curriculum. Training will be provided. Discovering Central Hosts: Welcome and connect with people who are new to Central at this class which meets approximately every other month. Another team is needed to use the self-propelled mowers on smaller areas around our campus.Sharpener: Keeps lawn mower blades sharp and ready to go. Trimming: Use a gas-powered trimmer to trim grass around our campus. Landscaping: Assist with various landscape projects. Irrigation: Work on our sprinkling system throughout spring and summer. Adopt a Flower Bed: Plant, care for, and weed a flower or landscape bed for a season. Nativity Set Crew: Work with a team of people the first weekend after Thanksgiving to set up our nativity set outdoors. Christmas Lights: Work with the facilities team installing Christmas lights around the campus and removing them after the Christmas. Snow Shoveling: Requires being available to shovel our walks and steps during the winter months. Loader Operator: Experienced operators needed to push snow with our loader. Snow Blower: Team needed to plow snow around our campus. Set Up: This team assists in setting up tables and chairs for big events. Windows: Clean windows in various areas. Door Hardware: Fix locks and hinges as needed. Carpentry: Help with projects such as building shelves, etc. Mechanic: Licensed mechanics to work on our various vehicles. Electrician: Licensed work on small electrical projects as needed. Plumber: Work on small plumbing projects as needed. Masons: Work on light masonry projects such as repairing and building small walls. Light Maintenance: Replace light bulbs throughout the facility. Change air filters on heating and cooling equipment. Vehicle Cleaner: Team needed to clean our vehicles. Runner: Be available to pick up parts and run small errands as needed. HVAC Technician: Experienced technicians to change filters and do light repairs as needed. Rider Vacuum: Clean carpets using our riding vacuum. Vacuum: Vacuum areas with our double-wide machines. Custodial Help: Dust, clean and wash various areas around our facilities. Flyers: Assist distributing informational flyers into the pews. Kitchen Cleaning: Assist in keeping our kitchen clean and up to current health regulations. Coffee Brewers: Assist in making the many cups of coffee needed on Sunday mornings for Community Groups and also in Gathering Grounds. Greeters are especially sensitive and attentive to the needs of guests. Serve one or two times a month.Guide: Be available to personally escort guests to their desired location throughout the building. Guides are able to make a connection with the guests they serve and provide information about the church and the various programs we have to offer. Serve one or two times a month. Information Desk: Welcome, direct and provide people with information about Central one Sunday a month. Guest Reception Host: Assist Pastor Paul and Marilyn in greeting new guests and creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere twice a quarter following either service. Usher: Assist people as they arrive in the Worship Center. Help facilitate our worship services by distributing worship folders, taking the offering and assisting during communion services. Their attitude helps to set the tone for everything else that happens during services. Ushers need to be friendly and committed to serving Christ and the church. Ushers are provided the flexibility to serve with others on a weekly, biweekly or monthly basis. Assign volunteers to rooms and make reminder calls to nursery workers from home. Laundry Person: Take the nursery laundry home, clean and return. Toy Cleaner: Come in and clean toys in the nursery once a week. Nursery Volunteer: Serve during a worship service by working with babies and toddlers in the nursery. Nursery Room Supervisor: Be the “in charge” person for one of the nursery rooms. Give leadership to the volunteers assigned to your room. Leader/Teacher: Prepare and present the singing and teaching segments to the children during the Sunday morning large group worship program. Early Childhood Sunday School Teacher: Prepare lessons, work with specific age children, provide overall leadership in classroom and teach the lesson. Helper: Assist teacher in specific age classroom. Parent Teachers (Rotation): Help facilitate the Sunday School Rotation program with our 5-year-olds. Help with motivation and movement of children throughout the rotation program. Worship Leader: Person needed who likes to sing and is able to lead large group worship for Sunday School rotation program. Craft Leader: Prepare and facilitate craft projects for Sunday School rotation program. Game Leader: Have fun and teach children Biblical truths through the use of games. Bible Teacher: Teach Biblical truths through Bible stories. This role requires minimal preparation but lots of participation and a deep desire to enhance the worship and learning experience of the children assigned to your group. Worship Hour Facilitator/Greeter: Serve with a smile at the entrance to C-Zone and Park Central. Requires only a small amount of time before worship. Serves up huge smile rewards. Resource Worker: Help facilitate the morning worship through copying assistance, set-up, snack distribution, attendance counts and assisting in various tasks. A commitment to organization and a willingness to help where needed are great gifts for this volunteer opportunity. Community Player: Hand out snacks, play board games, and enjoy children’s videos with our elementary kids each week during the 20-minute break between morning worship services. 10:50 Sunday School Teacher: Teach and mentor a 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th or 5th grade class. Easy-to-use curriculum and great kids make this one of the best roles in Children’s Ministry. 10:50 Facilitator: Help serve and encourage Sunday School teachers by supervising the hallways, directing children to their rooms, taking attendance and getting supplies. Club 15 Boy and Girl Leaders: A weekly commitment to teach and mentor children in classes divided by grade and gender. This role requires a heart for kids and a sense of adventure for all the excitement our midweek program offers. Boy classes are led by men. Girl classes are led by women. Club 15 Derby Workers: Weekly commitment for men willing to help children sand, finish and paint their derby cars for the exciting Pinewood Derby in the spring. Rotation Leaders: Teach a weekly class designed to provide a half hour of activity each Wednesday evening. Classes currently offered are gym, art and missions. Children’s Ministry would love for you to share your interest or skills at the Club 15 program. Club 15 Community Players: Supervise and interact with children before and after Club 15. Confident Kids Helpers are needed to help children in 1st–5th grade, deal with changes in their lives. Little Rays of Hope Helpers assist children ages 4 and 5. Childcare helpers are needed to help with children ages 2 months—kindergarten while their parents attend Hope 4 the Single Again. Singles Ministry: We’ve got needs for helping singles with budgeting and taxes, mentoring kids and leading small groups. Leaders do not need to be bible scholars or “Super-Christians”, but need to have a sincere love for people. They usually have the gifts of leadership, hospitality, teaching, shepherding, helps, or exhortation.Small Group Coach: Coaches shepherd the very heart of our church, small group leaders. They encourage, pray for and support five to ten small group leaders through quarterly conversations or meetings. Coaches do not need to have all the answers, but should have small group leadership experience. Gifting includes shepherding, wisdom, prayer, leadership, administration and exhortation. Small Group Kiosk: Individuals that man the small group kiosk in the Main Lobby are often the first experience a newcomer has with Central’s small group ministry. Friendly faces that help others sign up for a small group or answer questions about group life make all the difference in creating a warm and welcoming environment. Gifts might include administration, helps or hospitality. Turbo Leaders: Turbo Leaders are small group leaders that love to start new small groups, help people connect relationally, identify a leader within the group, and then pull out and repeat the process with new people. Sunday Morning Roundtable Leader: Connect during Encounter, our 9:15 hour experience for high schoolers. Lead a small group of students in digesting and discussing the scriptures and build relationships with them. Tech Team Leader: Help out on Sunday mornings and Wednesday nights once a month with sound, video and organizing student volunteers. Host: Create a welcoming climate at our weekly Sunday 9:15 experience for high school students and our once a month gathering, elevation, by setting up our meeting space, serving food and drinks and welcoming students.
