GENERAL DESCRIPTION: The Worship Arts Pastor/Director is a member of the ministry Staff and is selected by the Director of Ministries in conjunction with the Senior Pastor and the Elders. This position will minister to the spiritual needs of the people attending CWC and reach out to the community; additionally they are expected to contribute to the team spirit of the staff through fellowship, encouragement and prayer support as they serve under the supervision of the Director of Ministries, with a natural partnership with Teaching Pastors. MISSION AND PURPOSE: To actively raise up spiritually mature people by equipping lay worshipers who will help fulfill the Great Commission; by leading the church into the presence of God through worship arts. GENERAL EXPECTATIONS: · Meets the scriptural requirements for a spiritual leader (1 Tim. 3 (among others)) · Spends time in prayer on a daily basis · Spends time in daily study of God’s Word · Will set aside 2-3 hours per week for modeling, recruiting and training others · Will be involved in a small group or accountability group. · Takes a day off each week from his/her employment duties, although circumstances may require working occasionally on this day off · Stays current with ministry trends by listening to music, reading books, periodicals and attending approved conferences · Incorporates the Core Values of CWC into their area of ministry · Attends all staff meetings and retreats, as directed · Attends all regular worship services and, as directed, special services · Is available to the congregation before and after services as other duties allow · Provides Pastoral Care to congregation including hospital visitation and counseling · Maintains flexible working hours as determined by the needs of the ministry · Other duties as assigned by supervisor SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES · Strives for both qualitative and quantitative excellence in the Worship Arts Ministry · Responsible for all aspects of the Worship Arts Ministry · Works closely with Senior/Teaching Pastors to assure worship experience is effective. Leading worship · Raises the bar on personal and corporate worship; implements creative ideas to engage attenders. Creating moments of awe–and response–in worship is a key expectation. · Oversees all major ministries with the Worship Arts ministries, especially weekend services, mid-week rehearsals, and special events · Leads (or delegates) worship planning and selection of musicians, songs/arrangements, video, drama, and special presentations to enhance the teaching of the Senior Pastor/Teaching pastors. Team Development · Responsible for leadership, training and development of the Worship Arts teams. · Oversees selection, recruitment, training, and oversight of ministry leaders, teachers and helpers, keeping Ephesians 4:12 in mind, “equipping the saints to do the work of the ministry” · Accountable for worship experiences throughout the whole church (possibly including acting as an advisor to youth and children’s areas.) Christmas and Easter · Produce/Direct the Christmas and Easter—and possibly other—productions. (For example, 4th of July) Staff & Department Direction/Development & Meetings · Lead Up, down and laterally. Oversee the image of the Worship Arts Ministry, developing strong ties with other CWC ministries. · Cast vision, communicate the Worship Arts Ministry philosophy, and implement structure and strategy of the ministry · Meet weekly with the team under their direction to provide support, encouragement, training, accountability and direction for their ministries · Responsible for the oversight, evaluation, promotion and direction of the programs within the Worship Arts Ministry · Responsible for creating, evaluating, monitoring—and changing as needed—the goals for the ministry · Responsible for working with each team member to do goal setting and vision casting for their ministry every six to twelve months · Responsible for working with each staff member on their team to maintain a balanced work schedule, keeping track, coordinating vacation days, sick days, days off, etc. · Responsible for all ministry budgets for their team. Will monitor all check requests, purchase orders, etc. for their team. · Other various duties as directed by Director of Ministries or Senior Pastor for the enrichment of the staff, leadership, and ministries of CWC Relationship Building · Provide opportunity for gifted artists to utilize their giftedness from a ministry platform · Develop strategy for shepherding and discipling people and equipping them to share their faith with others · Is responsible for marketing Worship Arts to the congregation to keep the ministry vision alive Please send a cover letter and resume electronically to: This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it Application (pdf) Questions?
