CHANGE: it's what's in your purse.PurseWeb.jpg

This Sunday we wrap up World Impact 2008. Just like in the fourth quarter of the last game, it all comes down to this. Our theme has been CHANGE—Very simple. Very direct. Our change can make a difference for someone in the world, and God wants to make a change in our hearts.

For the past two weeks we have heard from our missionaries and speakers who told us not to miss the adventure with God on the trip of life. Now it all comes down to our response.

Have you been listening to God so you can hear how He wants to change your heart and life? Will you be a person of faith and help us change the world? Believers are called to be people of faith. But are you living by faith?

These are very tough economic times. Sometimes the only thing we can do is step out in faith. Will you take a step of faith and make a financial commitment to Faith Promise Giving for Missions? This is the only way that we financially support our missionaries, help train national pastors and start churches around the world. We are involved in bringing clean water to villages and blankets for children. This Sunday we will recieve our commitments and take a step of faith in our own lives.

What action will you take in faith? How many people around the world will hear the name of Jesus because you acted on faith? You will never have a better opportunity to exercise your faith than now. This Sunday we will receive our Faith Promise commitment cards. You can give to our outreach ministries by designating your gifts on your offering envelope for Faith Promise Giving.

Another way you can get involved in changing the world is to change your perspective. Discover for yourself how to find your particular assignment within God's ageless plan through the "Perspectives on the World Christian Movement" class offered January 12–May 4. This 16-week class held on Monday evenings will help you understand your specific calling, and you will hear from a different speaker each week. Register at perspectives.org, call Barbara Yandell at 394.0761 or pick up a brochure this Sunday in the Main Lobby.

As we close out World Impact, what will you do? Will you listen and obey the voice of God in your life? Will you help to make a change in the world?
