Classes provide concentrated, in-depth teaching in a lecture format where biblical truths can be explored in more detail. For questions on any of these classes, call 395.3113. Men's Groups and ClassesX-Men An X-Men Group is group of 4 men who commit to meet weekly. Each participant agrees to spend time in God’s Word and pray daily, as they mutually support and encourage each other. Interested? Contact: Laura, 395.3705 or online. This practical and relevant study teaches men how to live transformed lives of authentic manhood as modeled by Jesus Christ and directed by the Word of God. Are you ready? Many men meet afterwards for fellowship over breakfast. Faithful and Pure You are not alone: every man struggles in the area of sexual purity. Wherever you are in your struggle, you are invited to join with other men to experience both support and life change. There is hope. Whether your thing is hiking, hunting, mountain biking, fishing or kayaking, why not experience the outdoors with others? All Outdoors provides opportunities to reach out to, and build redemptive relationships with friends, work associates and neighbors, as well as a great mentoring connection point for boys growing up without a father’s influence. Women's Groups and ClassesFirst Place, Barb Hassenrik Thursdays, 6:30–8:30 p.m. (C161). First Place is a Christ-centered weight loss program that incorporates Bible study, Scripture memorization, prayer, balanced eating and exercise plans. $85 includes kit and book. This summer, Lynnelle Pierce continues to teach on Paul's journey. Attend on the first Monday (7 p.m.) or Tuesday (9:30 a.m.) of the month. M&Ms (with Peanuts) 2nd, 4th and 5th Tuesdays, 9:15-11:15 a.m. (C161) Moms & Mentors nurtures and meets the needs of mothers of preschoolers and elementary age children. This year, Terry VanderVelde is teaching on “What does it really mean to ‘love one another’ as Jesus loves us?” Registration is $5 per meeting for childcare in Peanuts, our children’s program. Throughout the year we will also have brunches and craft time. Prayer Impact 1st Wednesday of the month, 6:30–8 p.m. (Chapel) This time of worship and prayer led by Marlae Gritter, Marilyn Hontz, Nancy Joldersma, Janice Faber and Pam VanPutten is for women to come pray for the next generation and personal needs. Stepping Up Wednesdays, 6:30-8:30 p.m. First class is June 11. A new Beth Moore Bible study is being offered for women. Stepping Up is a journey through the Psalms of Ascent, which explores Psalms 120-134. Traveling pilgrims sang these psalms both on the way to the great festivals of the Jews and as key elements of the worship at those festivals. Students with interact with Beth Moore and the Scriptures in new ways. They will gain a new appreciation for the life of faith as a journey to greater fellowship with and worship of God. This six-week study will be introduced on Wednesday, June 11, 2008 and will finish on Wednesday, July 23. The cost is $18 for the workbook. To register for this class, please call Cathy at 395.3113. Join us anytime during those hours. H4SA–Hope for the Single Again May 16 and 17 Hope 4 the Single Again is a workshop for those going through divorce, separation or relationship break-up. It's a time of practical, biblical teaching and small group interaction. Subjects covered are anger, guilt, fear, forgiveness, contentment and making new memories. Crown Financial Studies Recent surveys found that over half of all divorces are the result of financial pressure. Suffocating materialism is robbing people of their spiritual vitality. The purpose of the 10-week Crown Small Group Study is to teach people God’s financial principles in order to know Christ more intimately and to be free to serve Him.
