The Buzz on Kim & Brian Print E-mail

Among the exciting things happening at Central Wesleyan this summer is the arrival of Kim Fowler and Brian McSee. Kim will be our Creative Arts Director and Brian will be our Choir and Worship Leader for the 9:15 service. While we intended to add just one person, we encountered such great gifts and strengths in both Kim and Brian; both of whom we have worked with before, and we caught a vision for a great worship arts team. Kim will help us bring creative elements into all of our services and will really help us focus on creating ‘moments’. She will play a key role in our seasonal (Christmas, etc) productions. She has 16 years experience as a Programming Director; 5 years with Master Arts theatre(drama) and has spent the last 8 years as a Publicist for RBC ministries in GR. She and her husband Brian will be moving to the Holland area from Ada, Mi (Brian is an independent graphic designer with a heart for Mens ministry…we hope you’ll meet him too!).

You’ll be seeing and hearing a lot from Brian McSee! Brian has been involved in Christian music circles since 1987...he traveled for several years with Sandi Patty, and has led worship in churches in Indiana for the last 12 years. Brian is from right across the lake–in North Chicago, Ill where his mother and sister still live. We’ve assured him winters are easier here! We cant wait til you experience his heart for outreach, his great musical gifts and his place on our team. WELCOME KIM and BRIAN!!!

What do you do for fun?
Cook, entertain, decorate, read and exercise.

What are your most important accomplishments?
Striving to live a more simple and content life.

What will you be doing now that you’re at Central Wesleyan?
OK maybe the simple life will be more of a challenge now that I have accepted the position of Creative Arts Director - I will be working with the worship team to build a strong Arts Community. I believe utilizing the arts in our worship services and special events helps a person quiet the soul, to feel emotions deeply, and promotes spiritual growth and life change.

If you had one thing to say to the CWC congregation, what would it be?
I believe as we listen to God’s guidance, develop our gifts, and pray like crazy for supernatural power, God is going to do great things through the Arts Community at CWC.

What is one of your favorite Bible verses and what does it mean to you?
...faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love.
To truly love is so powerful and can be so difficult at times. Authentic love is the heart of our calling. I am learning daily the importance and depth of this simple verse.

If you were deserted on an island and could have only one thing with you what would it be?
A boat.
