Hempy were significant influences in my earlier life. My parents have
had a profound impact on me for good. Other influences: church, youth
camp, football and wrestling, Keith Green, Henri Nouwen's "In The Name
of Jesus," Jack Hayford, John Wesley, Winston Churchill, Abraham
Lincoln, Neil Diamond, Peter, Paul and Mary, the Righteous Brothers
Epic Moments: My conversion, meeting Marilyn, the
births of my five children, my first capital campaign with the people at
Central, our first Faith Promise event, when my children responded to
Christ as their own, the death of my sister, whenever I lead someone to
Christ
Favorite bands/music: Righteous Brothers, Peter, Paul and Mary, the early Beatles, John Denver, Ann Murray, Children of the Day
Favorite book: Almost anything by Ambrose, Michener, Nouwen
Favorite movies: "The Great Escape" and "Patton"
Worst movie ever: "Love Story"
Favorite food: Hot fudge Sundaes and Mexican
Spare time: Working in the garden
Passion: Beauty, Excellence, Seeing things that work
Favorite show: "Everybody Loves Raymond"
Fear factors: Snakes, insects, noises in the night
Biggest frustration: Low or little commitment—to anything that matters
Motivation: Hearing "Well done, good and faithful servant"
Pastor Paul's Prayer Team
Becoming a part of the Pastor's Prayer Team is a commitment you make to
pray and fast over a 24-hour period during 2007-2008. You may commit to
one day or several days. For example, you may decide to pray/fast the
first Friday of each month. Please give us a call at 395.3127 so we
can send you a prayer newsletter prior to your committed date. Even if
you are unable to fast, please pray on that chosen day(s). Every member
of the Pastor's Prayer Teams is an incredible gift! Thank you for
