Hello Praying Friends!
Thanks so much for the notes of support stating your prayer for City Life yesterday!
We are not announcing the results of the pledges until next Sunday, but I promise I'll keep you posted. Let's just say that I'm amazed and grateful for City Life's FAITH-filled response!
We had a wonderful time celebrating four baptisms yesterday, and then different City Lifers hosted two Christmas parties for Mel Trotter Mission residents. Adam, our boys and I had a great time interacting with these precious women who are part of City Life! We have a Christmas party for men from Guiding Light Mission on Saturday, and then Adam and I host one at our house for Mel Trotter men next week Sunday. The point is to get people out of institutions and into homes... and just to express love! We are also hosting a party at a low-income apartment complex tomorrow night (Tuesday). It's a good thing I'm an extrovert! :) I'm loving the parties even though the prep has been a lot of work.
There have been several families/individuals in serious crisis lately. That has been taxing, and our leadership team bears these concerns with heavy hearts. I find myself personally encouraged, however, knowing that some of our leaders share this emotional load with Adam and me. It is SO GREAT having called, capable leaders serving in our church! There were a few years there when ALL of my prayer letters to you requested prayers for leadership development. :) We have a long way to go still, but I am incredibly thankful that Adam and I get to do ministry with a TEAM! God is gracious!
