Kid Central

Would you consider how you might use your gifts to positively impact children for eternity as a friend, mentor or small group leader, musician, tech provider, craft assistant, teacher, photographer, greeter, special event helper, games, drama, puppets, special needs buddy and more! The opportunities are as deep and wide as the sea!

Nursery: Our nursery is based on a rotation schedule of parents and other volunteers willing to rock and play with babies. They're so sweet!

Early Childhood and Elementary: These programs are based on a large group/small group teaching and worship format. Presently we have most of our large group teachers and are looking for small group leaders who are willing to interact with a group of children each week to follow-up the large group lesson with life application—all materials are provided. These are important, interactive roles between kids and their small group leaders. We also need some musicians. We'd love to have you on this crew!

Midweek Programs: This program offers a variety of opportunities for interaction with children, and our programs have multiple aspects: teaching, crafts, puppets, derby cards, scrapbooking, cooking, fishing, archery and so much more. You won't get bored!

Events: Kid Central offers awesome events throughout the course of the year—if you like planning big fun, this is for you!

Check-In Desks: We love to have friendly faces at our children's check-in desk. Do you have the gift to greet and make people feel welcome? Your beautiful smile is needed!

Other: We also have many opportunities for tech support, photographers, creative arts planners for classrooms and projects and buddies for special needs children.

You may see an age-level ministry coordinator for a volunteer application form and a police check form or download them and return them to a children’s ministry desk at church.  We will also need a copy of the front and back of your driver’s license which you may bring in with the forms. Thanks for considering Kid Central as a place to positively impact a child. If you have questions, please contact me or bring in your forms and we'll get you placed according to your area of interest.

Kids Hope

To “Be the One” to change a life through Kids Hope USA is a Five Step Process.

Step 1: Choose A or B
  1. Fill out our application and our police check form.
  2. Download and print a Kids Hope Application Packet.
State law requires that we have a background check on file for anyone who has contact with children.

Step 3: Register which training date you will attend, or indicate it at your interview. This three-hour training is required for all new mentors to equip you to begin mentoring a child.

Step 4: Attend the Orientation session at Jefferson School (30 – 60 minutes)
  • learn how to sign in and out
  • get more information about materials
  • meet your teacher and your student
  • set a day and time for your tutoring session
  • meet Principal’s Rick Muniz and MaryJo Kooiker and other office personnel

Step 5: Begin to faithfully mentor on the day and time you and your teacher set!

Choir: We are 100+ voices who love to worship God through singing. We are multi-generational and multi-cultural. Ages range from high school to senior citizens. The choir's ministry is diverse. In addition to the Sunday morning worship experience, the choir is also invited to participate in seasonal events, N. O.W. (Night of Worship), Worship Arts Celebration and "Outside theWalls" events such as singing in: nursing homes, prisons, outdoor venues and other events and services both at Central and other churches.
