We are in need of volunteers who can commit to the Landing. Please read the Landing Volunteer Code of Conduct below before signing up.

The Landing Volunteer Code of Conduct/Covenant Agreement:

  • #01

    Attendance

I agree to attend trainings and be on time, as well as the Monday night meetings. I will wear either a Celebrate Recovery or Landing t-shirt to Monday night meetings.

I understand there will be no condemnation if I need to step down in order to work on my own recovery needs and that I will be able to return to volunteering when I am ready and the Landing Volunteer Committee has reviewed the situation that lead to my stepping down.

  • #02

    Drugs

I agree to refrain from use of illegal drugs or substances used as a mind-altering devise.

  • #03

    Alcohol use

I will attend the Landing activities free from the use of alcohol. While the use of alcohol is not illegal it is vital to set a solid example to the youth and to not become a stumbling block.

  • #04

    Use/Abuse of prescription drugs

I agree to use all prescription medication as prescribed by a medical professional.

  • #05

    Cigarette smoking/Tobacco use

I will refrain from using all tobacco products for the duration of all Landing activities and events.

  • #06

    Social Media use

I will not establish relationships with the teens through the use of social media. We will encourage the youth to not seek out friendships in this manner until they have graduated from high school.

I will use social media responsibly and my usage will be reflective of a Christ Centered life style that supports the beliefs and morals taught at Central Wesleyan Church, Celebrate Recovery and the Landing.

  • #07

    Two Adult Rule

Volunteers will not be alone with any of the youth connected with the Landing without the presence of two adults. If a situation arises where there is not a second adult I will make all efforts to secure a second adult. I will not establish a relationship with a youth of the opposite gender.

  • #08

Relationships with youth outside of landing (including visits and phone calls/texting/social media)

I will not seek out relationships with the youth outside of the regular meeting times. If outside contact occurs I agree to adhere to the two adult policy.

  • #09

“Moral” standing in alignment with Churches values

I agree to adhere to the moral guidelines that Central Wesleyan Church requires.

  • #10

    Relapse/Length of Recovery

I will step down from my role if I experience a relapse in my personal recovery in order to seek out healing and recovery. I will have at least a year (12 months) of recovery before working in the Landing.

  • #11

    Confidentiality

I will adhere to the strict confidentiality and anonymity guidelines.

  • #12

    Following Guidelines

I will follow the group guidelines that are established by Celebrate Recovery in order to keep the Landing sharing safe and sacred.

  • #13

    Contact with parents/guardians

I understand that no information outside of “programing” may be shared with the parents/guardian of the youth. The only time confidentiality may be broken is when a youth threatens to injure themselves or another person or if the youth shares about abuse. This is to be reported immediately to the Landing Ministry Leader and the Celebrate Recovery Ministry Leader.

  • #14

Reporting of incidences (abuse, suicidal thoughts, intent to harm)

I agree to report any threat by the youth to harm themselves or another person, as well as any report of abuse or suspected abuse to the Landing Ministry Leader.

  • #15

    Complaints

I agree to bring all complaints about the Landing to the Ministry leader.
I understand that any formal complaints made about me or by me will be reviewed in the Landing Leadership committee.

  • #16

    Felony Charges

I agree to report any past or current felony charges and adhere to a background check. I understand that any report of criminal sexual conduct excludes me from being able to serve with the youth in the Landing.

By signing up to be a volunteer I agree that I understand the expectations under this code and I agree to adhere to each code established. Known misuse or abuse of any kind will result in a referral to the Landing Volunteer Committee and the Celebrate Recovery Ministry Leader. I understand that no termination will occur without a referral to the Leadership Committee and the Celebrate Recovery Ministry Leader, each referral will be reviewed on a case by case basis.
