Missions

“It is not so much the case that God has a mission for his church in the world but that God has a church for his mission in the world.” J.H. Wright

Our desire is to see the whole church, take the whole gospel, to the whole world and we believe that missions is biblical stewardship as a form of whole-life discipleship that embraces every legitimate vocation and calling to fulfill God’s mission in the world.

Global Impact

All missions is local missions whether at home or away and this requires that we resource, equip, and empower local leaders for holistic impact in and through the local church. Globally, Central is strategically called to invest in unreached and underserved places in the world.

Local Impact

We are burdened for the lost and least on our city, especially vulnerable kids and families. Our work in Holland involves children’s literacy and mentorship, providing food for the hungry, addiction recovery, foster care and adoption, poverty alleviation, and providing affordable legal services.

“One child, one hour" is the heart of Kids Hope USA. One caring adult mentors an at-risk child for one hour every week, because when kids feel loved and valued they are better able to learn, grow and succeed. Statistics show that children who acquire critical reading skills by grade four are eight times less likely to drop out of school. Kids Hope USA volunteer's help children learn through tutoring as well as giving the emotional support of a friendly, caring relationship. These relationships become the foundation for us to reach our neighborhood families with the good news of Jesus Christ simply by demonstrating love and faithfulness every week.

“As base a thing as money often is, yet it can be transmuted into everlasting treasure. It can be converted into food for the hungry and clothing for the poor. It can keep a missionary actively winning lost men to the light of the gospel and thus transmute itself into heavenly values. Any temporal possession can be turned into everlasting wealth. Whatever is given to Christ is immediately touched with immortality.”
