Short Circles are Small Groups that run six to eight weeks in duration each Fall and Winter, focusing on sermon-based discussion questions and scriptures. They provide an easy on, easy off ramp for those who have never tried a Small Group before. Short Circles are also a great way to meet and get to know 10-12 people in a brief amount of time. Many Short Circles decide to stay together and become permanent Small Groups after the series is done, but there is no pressure to do so. If a Short Circle ends after the series and participants decide they want to continue on in a permanent Small Group, just contact Lisa at firstname.lastname@example.org and ask to be placed in a permanent Small Group.
The next Short Circle registration will begin August 2017 and the next Short Circle series will start September 2017.
Parent Connect is a 5-week small group consisting of parents in similar life stages. The next Parent Connect session will be January–February 2018. Connect with God. Connect with Parents. Connect with Kids. Life is better connected.
When Small Groups get together, eating is often involved…whether it’s just cookies and coffee or a shared meal where everyone brings something. Community happens better with food. Laugh. Encourage. Share life. Eat together!
Read from the Word! When your Small Group is together, open the Bible and read it. That is how God equips and strengthens us…and how we encourage one another! Talk about what it teaches you about God and life. You may shape your time around the sermon, using sermon-based scriptures and questions, or you may use Right Now Media or another book or DVD-driven study. Share what you think God is asking you to do that week based on what you read and learn. Either way, everyone loves to read and learn something new. Read together!
Through prayer, we celebrate the good times and find encouragement and support through the tough times as we seek God’s guidance and help. Share requests, but spend more time praying…because that’s where God meets us! Pray together or split off and pray in groups of 2-4. Pray for each other. Pray for others. Pray for what God is doing in the world. Pray together!
Literally, leave the house and bring whatever you learned, whatever you think God wants you to do and take it back to your normal life. Your home, your neighborhood, your work, your life. The point of a small group is to find people who will sharpen you, encourage you and help you see and know Jesus better. They help to fill you with Jesus. The goal of getting full of Jesus is always to spill him on the people God puts you in contact with. Go and spill Jesus on everyone.
