Frequently Asked Questions
Sign ups are not open yet for hostesses. If you have questions, please contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org
You need to provide all table settings, decorations and serving utensils for your table: plates, water glasses, mugs or cups for hot drinks, flatware, napkins, container for sweeteners/creamers, dessert for eight guests and utensils to serve it, plus any type of decorations you’d like.
Central Women’s Ministries will provide a 60” round table with a white tablecloth, nametags, markers, programs, a conversation starter card, bag for cleanup, coffee, tea, cold & hot water, sweeteners and cream.
You may purchase tickets to fill some or all the seats at your table. Ticket price is $3.00. Your ticket is complimentary, and if you have a co-hostess who is helping you, hers also is complimentary. You do not need to fill your whole table, but you must leave a minimum of 3 seats open if you don’t purchase all seats.
If you enjoy serving others and want us to fill your table, THANK YOU! We have lots of women who desire to attend Christmas Desserts but are unable to hostess their own table. We will be happy to fill your table with guests.
Yes! It can be simply with decorative paper plates and a wreath with your dessert. Simple is often best. We have photos on our website if you want some ideas. www.centralwesleyan.org/christmasdessert-hostess
We do not have use of electrical outlets at this event so if you desire to have lighting, it must be battery-operated.
For safety, we do not allow lit flames in the church. You may use battery-operated candles for lighting.
If your dessert needs to be chilled or frozen, you will have to bring it at the time of the event (5:30 pm for hostesses). You can bring a cooler for storage if necessary. We will enjoy dessert before the speaker, so it should be fine for that short time.
You can pick up your tickets as soon as you have names to attach to each one. They are available at the Christmas Desserts kiosk on Sundays in the lobby, or call or email Lesa to arrange pickup from church on weekdays. 616.395.3113 or email@example.com
Ask one of your friends if they would be willing to hostess! If you can’t think of anyone, please notify us as soon as possible, as the guests at your table are assigned early and we will need to find a replacement hostess.
You can ask another guest; please let Lesa know that the name on the ticket has changed. If you don’t have anyone else to ask, you can turn in the ticket and we will attempt to place someone at the spot. We always have a waiting list for this event!
Sign up to be a waiter
Is there a hostess or a guest you are associated with? This helps us know what table to assign you to.
We are thankful you are considering being a waiter for the Women’s Christmas Dessert on Thursday, December 1 and/or December 2.
Here is a little information you may want to know before signing up:
We ask the waiters to wear a white shirt and black pants and to arrive at 5:45 p.m.
We’ll gather in the Server’s Room for prayer and instructions followed by some pre-event tasks. Then we will gather as a group during the program for dessert followed by clean-up.
Thank you for your generous gift of service, awarding ladies a special evening of attention and rest. Thank you also for your continued prayers over all details of this outreach event.
Please feel free to contact Lesa with any questions you may have at 616.395.3113. If your plans have changed, or you are not able to serve, please email Lesa at firstname.lastname@example.org.
